Mississippi River Trail, Inc. is proud to be the presenting sponsor of ParkPalooza at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch) in St. Louis. Involved in planning and providing funding for this unique family fun and educational event, Mississippi River Trail strives to support trail use for conservation and physical fitness, a resurgence of interest and promotion of outdoor activities, and an increase in youth participation and enjoyment for exploring the natural world.

An approximately 3,000-mile trail system stretching from the headwaters of the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca, MN  to the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River Trail connects 10 states, 123 counties, and over 400 communities along the Great River. Composed of on-road and separate pathways, the trail system offers a multitude of diverse recreation opportunities including bicycling, walking, jogging, skateboarding, and a host of water activities via the water component of the system.

Mississippi River Trail, Inc. continually works to develop, promote, and encourage use of the Mississippi River Trail and the Mississippi River.  They advocate active lifestyles for better health, encourage environmental conservation, and support green economic development in the over 400 communities along the MRT.  Their existing and developing partnerships include the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and many other collaborative efforts along the Mississippi River designed to promote, protect, and uphold the Mississippi River as a treasured national landscape.

Mississippi River Trail, with author Bob Robinson, has developed the first-ever Mississippi River Trail Guidebook.  This publication offers superior route information broken into approximately 100 mile segments. The Guide offers lodging, camping, and dining tips as well as a unique cyclist perspective to exploring the Mississippi River Trail.
